The St. Petersburg Police Department recently arrested Angela Atherton-Nurczyk for embezzling over $50,000 from a dental office. Angela Atherton-Nurczyk also allegedly stole and sold dental crowns and bridges from Dr. Vivian Quesada-Fox’s office, where she worked as a manager. According to police, Atherton-Nurczyk threatened Quesada-Fox and her husband after she learned of the investigation.
Ms. Atherton-Nurczyk was hired as a receptionist at the practice of Vivian Quesada-Fox, DMD, in 2006 and became the practice manager in 2016. Her responsibilities as manager included managing customer payments and insurance claims as well as managing the sale of precious metals to a refinery company.
According to a police report, Ms. Atherton-Nurczyk allegedly deposited nearly $51,000 worth of stolen checks into her personal bank accounts. In addition, she also allegedly stole dental crowns and bridges from the practice, sold them to a refinery company and kept the money from the sales.
Ms. Atherton-Nurczyk was charged with a scheme to defraud, forgery, dealing in stolen property, and extortion. She was released from Pinellas County Jail on a $112,000 bond, the report said.
